Chimanimani seed and food fair kicks off

Chimanimani District Seed and Food Fair is now underway, launching two days of celebration from August 27-28, 2025.

The event is jointly coordinated by Chikukwa Ecological Land Use Organisation (CELUO), Towards Sustainable Use of Resources Organisation (TSURO), Valley of Hope (VOH), Zivakwawakabva, Zimbabwe Smallholder Organic Farmers’ Forum (ZIMSOFF) and Participatory Organic Research, Extension & Training Organisation (PORETO) with support from Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Zimbabwe.

The fair has drawn a diverse gathering of farmers who have displayed their organically multiplied traditional seeds and the array of foods processed from them, bringing out the theme, “Nurturing Our Future and Reviving our Heritage.”

Reviving this traditional seed heritage offers a powerful path towards food sovereignty, ensuring communities have control over their own nutritious and culturally appropriate food sources.
