Huma Lazaro hitmaker Billion Largest opens up on his music career

BILLION Largest, a musician from Chiredzi South, has taken the music industry by storm with his latest song, “Huma Lazaro.” The song was crowned Song of the Year 2024 at Avuxeni FM, catapulting Billion Largest to fame.

Speaking to this publication, Billion Largest indicated that his musical journey had many set up and downs.

“My musical journey started in 2009, when l met the late Shadreck Mulwayini (Xifu) who was a talented guitarist. We recorded our first track, Machangana ya ka Gaza, with the help of lead vocalist, Flexible Lihinga (Bace Delegate).

“The true inspiration for ‘Huma Lazaro’ was to serve as a testament to the resilience and strength that carried me through the darkest of times. What fuels me to keep going as far as music is concerned is that l want to see my mother language (Xitsonga) and arts industry represented better at national level,” he said.

Despite facing setbacks, including a devastating scandal that left him without his music instruments and personal belongings, Billion Largest persevered. He established his own studio, Coles Studio, and continued to produce music, including his hit song “Huma Lazaro.”

Billion Largest’s music is a unique blend of Amapiano and House music that promotes and preserves his mother language, Xitsonga. He has released four albums; Manyalo Volume 1, Manyalo Volume 2, Khoma Nomo and Huma Lazaro, plus numerous single tracks and music videos.
