Musician sends SOS

CHIPINGE-BORN gospel musician Arnold Chibuwe has put out an SOS, appealing to well-wishers and promoters to help lift his music career to greater heights.

The 47-year-old artiste from Chibuwe in Chipinge has four albums to his name but says lack of recording funds and musical instruments for live shows is holding him back.

“I am a gospel music singer born in 1978. I have four albums to my credit but I have a challenge of acquiring recording funds as well as instruments for live shows,” Chibuwe said.

“I am looking for well-wishers and promoters to raise my career higher.”

Chibuwe is currently in Chimanimani where he is billed to perform at a cultural gala scheduled for February 13, 2025 at Village Green. The event provides a rare platform for the seasoned musician who has struggled to break into the mainstream gospel circuit despite years in the industry.

Like many artistes from rural areas, Chibuwe faces the double blow of limited access to recording studios and a lack of equipment needed to deliver professional performances. Without proper backing instruments, he has found it difficult to secure bookings and grow his fan base.

The singer is now pinning his hopes on well-meaning individuals and corporate players who can come on board to finance his studio time and help him acquire basic gear.

“Those interested can contact me on WhatsApp on +263 788 751 498 or call +263 778 790 472,” he said.

Despite the hardships, Chibuwe remains determined to share his gift with the nation. His story mirrors that of many unsung gospel voices in the eastern borderlands, quietly waiting for a breakthrough.
