Ndau Festival director to raise Zim flag in Europe

THE director of Chipinge based Ndau Festival of the Arts (NdaFA), Phillip Kusasa, is heading to Europe tomorrow (09 March) where is going to attend a cultural event named Ateleir Donostia/San Sebastian 2025 for Young Festival Managers.
The culture fair shall take place in Basque Country in Spain from March 11 to 17 this year. Kusasa’s trip was funded by Culture Fund and European Union.
Speaking to this publication, the director of NdaFa indicated that the cultural event in Spain is an opportunity for him to raise the Zimbabwean flag high.
“I very excited to be given a chance to attend this prestigious event in Spain. I give credit to Culture Fund and European Union for the success of this trip. It’s a great opportunity I have been given to uplift our Ndau culture and raise the Zimbabwean flag high in Europe.
“Above all, this platform helps us to meet and network with festival makers from across the globe, he said.
Other objectives of the Donostia/San Sebastian 2025 for Young Festival Managers include exploring the relationship of a festival maker, reflect on their values and purpose with festival making and the world at large and in relation to the other participants.
The delegates are expected to gain new perspectives, explore the essence of the why and how of festivals in a global context, share and exchange experiences and reflect on the topics that concern the participant cohort.
