Chipinge-based arts company brings back Community Theatre
BY ARTS REPORTER

CHIPINGE-based arts company, Vivid Arts Initiative, is set to promote theatre in communities following its successful performance of an interactive theatre project titled “Let’s talk about human rights,” which they did in collaboration with renowned theatre organisation, Savanna Trust.
The project, which was held on December 20, 2024 at Gaza Community Hall in Chipinge town, gave the audience the opportunity to discuss pressing issues such as the right to health, education, early child marriages, and gender equality.
According to Tafadzwa Mazarire, communications officer for Vivid Arts Initiative, the group is committed to reviving community theatre in Chipinge.

“We have decided to bring back community theatre to Chipinge town, which has been deprived of it for a long time. We will soon announce a day that we will hold free theatre shows every week in Gaza community. We hope that this will provide a platform for us to interact more with residents,” he said.
Vivid Arts Initiative is led by Gerald Mucheto, a talented actor and musician. With its commitment to promoting community theatre, the group is set to make a positive impact on the cultural scene in Chipinge.
