Entrepreneurship has no physical challenges!

Hardlife lives in Rusitu Valley in Chipinge and has walking challenges. He is into macadamia nuts and pineapple farming.

Hardlife is a survivor of Tropical Cyclone Idai, which hit Chimanimani and Chipinge districts in 2019. Hardlife’s house was destroyed by the cyclone, but he has since received help from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), which built him a two-roomed wooden house.

When Quarterly Digest News visited him at his home, Hardlife revealed that he is a talented person who needs some start-up capital for livestock production.

“Even if I am disabled, I managed to establish a few macadamia nut plants, and I have been growing pineapples for years now. The pineapple business isn’t paying me much because I can’t go to the market on my own. People who come to purchase pineapples from me here always negotiate prices downwards.

“I wish to do livestock production if I get start-up capital to do broilers and layers. I can also repair shoes as part of my survival,” said Hardlife.

Anyone wishing to fund Hardlife’s poultry project can contact Progress Ngwenya, the chairperson of a Rusitu Valley-based community development organisation named Ruva Roots, on +263 776 111 977 or +263 716 622 698.
