GLCTF returns with a new name

RENOWNED regional cultural event, Great Limpopo Cultural Trade Fair (GLCTF), a flagship of Mahlanga Trust is bouncing back with a new name, Budula Festival.
According to one of its co-founders, Hebert Pikela, the GLCTF has decided to rebrand as a response to the need for repositioning, restructuring and captivating a name that better suits its purpose.

“Budula is a Tsonga/Xangani name that means corridor, aptly representing the connection between the communities in South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, near the Great Limpopo TransFrontier Conservation Area, united through cultural conservation,” Pikela said.
The festival promotes biodiversity, sustainable tourism, and cross-border collaboration among the three countries.

After a pause during and after the COVID-19 era, the event has been revitalised through reflection and transformation. This year’s edition will take place on June 21 at Boli Mhlanguleni in Chiredzi South, Zimbabwe.
