Liversy Matamba, Sugar Sugar refuse to go

TWO sungura music greats, Liversy Matamba & Chivaraidze Express of the “Hazvina Mhosva” fame and Taruvinga “Sugar Sugar” Manjokota & Samaita Express of the “Mairosi” fame are back in the game.

Liversy Matamba has released a new track titled “Muvaropafadze” which he featured L.C Mudondo. The 7 minute track was produced by Tichaona Chacha at Sungano Records.

Speaking to Business Wave Africa.com, Matamba revealed that he is back in the game like never before.

“I have produced a five track album which contains the single track I have released. I am happy with the quality enginnering that was done by Tichaona Chacha on my project.
“I want people to know that that the original sound that they know from Matamba has been maintained in my new offering,” he said.

Liversy Matamba became a household name in the year 2000 when he released an album called Kurarama Kwedu which produced his all time hit , “Hazvina Mhosva.”
Liversy Matamba is carrying the legacy of his uncle, Artwell Matamba of the Hurungwe Sounds.

Matamba celebrated his 54th birthday this year. He has 15 albums. He wishes to resume live shows.

Sugar Sugar (Taruvinga Manjokota) is back in the studio doing an album.
Speaking to this reporter, Sugar Sugar indicated that he is still in the game.

“I am in the studios and I wish to inform my fans that very soon, the music shall be released.

“I wish to correct statement that claim that I am no longer doing music and sitted in the rural areas of Buhera. Yes, Buhera is my home but I visit there and I am still in the game. In my forthcoming album, fans should expect one song titled ‘Kutendeuka kwaMairosi. It holds a lot of sugar,” he laughed.

Sugar Sugar appealed to promoters to consider him as well.

“Without promoters, I face a lot of challenges. I appeal to promoters to help me with contracts and transport,” he added.

Sugar Sugar was the main act during the 2nd Anniversary of Chimanimani FM that took place on July 26 and 27 this year.
