Seed and food fairs take off

CHASEYAMA Small Farmers Organisation (SFO) which operates under Zimbabwe Smallholder Organic Farmers’ Forum (ZIMSOFF) on July 19, 2024 held a seed and food fair. The event that took place at Chaseyama Primary School in Chimanimani brought together 15 exhibitors and was attended by 40 people.

The exposition aimed at promoting agroecology in particular and community development in general through showcasing of local seeds, food, and related products. Displays included indigenous (local) seeds, organic produce, traditional foods and value-added products.

Outcomes of the seed and food fairs included attendees appreciating the opportunity to learn about and purchasing local seeds and food, networking and raising awareness about the importance of agroecology and community development.
