WOMEN and youth in Chanhuwa Village, ward 17, Chimanimani are emulating the support they are receiving in form of livelihoods projects. The beneficiaries are expressing hope on fisheries projects that are being implemented by a youth-led organisation named Valley Of Hope.

The organisation received funding from United Nations Development Programme under Global Environmental Facility’s Small Grants Programme. The fisheries projects shall help to transform lives of the women and youth in rural areas.

Speaking to this publication, a beneficiary, Kerina Chikohomero pins her hope on the fisheries projects.
“I am happy to be a beneficiary of the fisheries project. The money we shall get from fish sells can uplift our lives by supporting our parents and also paying school fees for our children. We also expect good health from consumption of fish which we shall not sell.

“The work was labour intensive but we just said to ourselves, we need to complete it so that we transform our lives. Thanks to the fisheries projects,” she said.
