Four Manicaland organisations have joined forces to provide film and television training for young people in Chipinge. The Skills Amplification Programme (SAP) and the Chimana Child Protection Organisation (CCPO) of Chipinge, along with Herentals College Chipinge, are collaborating with Chimanimani-based Inclusive Global Media (IGM).

The joint initiative, a film project titled Tsitsi 1, will run from 29 to 31 December 2025 and will be managed by CCPO’s Tendai Tanyanyiwa.

“We are expecting to train school-going children from Chipinge. Participants will come from CCPO, IGM, SAP, and Herentals College. We have mixed the groups in order to benefit from a diversity of ideas,” said Tanyanyiwa.

She explained that the project aims at tackling important social issues through the creative medium.

“The Tsitsi 1 project shall address issues of children’s rights, especially the right to birth certificates and the right to education. As an organisation that caters for children’s protection, we at CCPO have identified this rights gap and aim to address it through film,” she added.

During the production, SAP will oversee the overall implementation of the training project.

IGM will provide technical filming expertise, CCPO will ensure the protection and welfare of the participating children, and Herentals College Chipinge will implement its Heritage-based Education 5.0 framework, integrating cultural values with practical skills development.
