Green Institute 5-year strategic planning begins

A strategic planning exercise for a Chipinge-based non-profit organisation, The Green Institute, has begun. With funding from IM Swedish Development Partner (IM), the three-day event brought together key stakeholders and board members to share ideas and insights on how to navigate the organisation’s future grow. It was held at a lodge in Chipinge town.

In his opening remarks, The Green Institute Board Chairman Francis Mukora, thanked Chipinge stakeholders for supporting the organisation’s vision.

“Our growth in the past 5 years was attributed to the support we are getting from Chipinge stakeholders. Your input in the strategic plan can help us do well and do better.,” he said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, The Green Institute Executive Director, Blessing Matasva, indicated the critical importance of the five-year strategic plan.

“We have invited key stakeholders who we believe can provide valuable input on how to strengthen our organisation. Without a clear strategic plan, our growth and impact may be hindered,” he noted.

The Green Institute has a proven track record of supporting marginalised communities in Chipinge. The organization has implemented various projects, including a nutrition garden and beekeeping initiative at Chako, agroecological projects, and climate action initiatives in various parts of the district.

The strategic planning exercise aims at building on these successes and chart a new course for the organisation’s future growth and impact.
