Hail Jonso! He is certified Agricultural Economist

CHIMANIMANI never ceases to amaze in agricultural circles. In just a few months after it hosts two indigenous seed and food fairs. One was hosted by Participatory Organic Research Extension and Training (PORET) at Chakohwa in September 2024 and another was hosted at Bumba in October by TSURO trust named Chimanimbeu Seed Market.

Now, the flame is in the hands of Johnson Ngezimana, a Chimanimani born agricultural economist. Ngezimana was officially certified as an Agricultural Economist by the Chairperson of Souther Africa Development Committee (SADC), His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

Commenting on his official Facebook page, Ngezimana was grateful to receive such a recognition.

“Huge congratulations to myself on being officially certified as an agricultural economist from the east by the SADC chairperson His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa! This is a remarkable achievement, and I should be incredibly proud of myself.

“It’s great to see my hard work and dedication being recognised at such a high academic level. As an agricultural economist, I’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture in Zimbabwe and beyond.

“My certification is not just a personal achievement but also a testament to the support of my family, friends, and community. I’m very much proud to be a germinated seed from the east (Manicaland Province),” he said.

Johnston holds a Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics degree with of Marondera University of Applied Science and Technology.
