The workshop aimed at strengthening the monitoring, evaluation, and learning within the land regeneration initiatives that include Holistic Land and Livestock Management (HLLM).

The second day of the workshop that focused much on a Baseline Study Feedback Session (Grazing Concept) attended by 83 participants who comprised of farmers and stakeholders from seven organisations across multiple districts.

The baseline study was done in target districts of Hwange, Chimanimani, Shurugwi, Matobo and Gutu.

During district presentations, youth from Chimanimani and Gutu gave an assurance that Holistic Land and Livestock Management is in secure hands.

“We revived our watershed and bought 20 goats from our savings scheme. We are using the goats to do impaction of at our watershed shed.

“We are inviting more participants and we look forward to form five more youth groups next year. As youth, we are inviting others to come forward so that qe can build our nation,” said Kennedy Sabira from Chikukwa in Chimanimani.

Victor Mazorodze from Chinyika in Gutu said, “If you check where I am standing, there is ground cover and will keep the moisture. That bare soil will dry off easily. As youth, we need to regenerate our land so that we keep productive. That way it will shield is from drug abuse.”

The enthusiastic participation of young people in Holistic Land and Livestock Management offers a powerful assurance that the future of regenerative agriculture in Zimbabwe is in dedicated hands.
