VOH resolute on promoting youth inclusivity, empowerment

CHIMANIMANI based youth led organisation Valley of Hope (VOH) on January 23, 2025, hosted Deaf Zimbabwe Trust on a visit to explore the organisation’s impact on the Chimanimani community.
The visit focused on promoting inclusive development and empowering vulnerable youth, particularly those with disabilities. The visit checked on how VOH was promoting inclusive development and empowering vulnerable youth, particularly those with disabilities.
The Deaf Zimbabwe Trust is implementing EMPOWER Activity that seeks to promote entrepreneurship among youth with disabilities. EMPOWER Activity Chief of Party, Paidamoyo Chimhini was party of the five member team from Deaf Zimbabwe Trust.
Climate Smart Initiatives
The delegation observed VOH’s climate smart initiatives, designed to promote sustainable livelihoods and reduce vulnerability to climate change. These initiatives demonstrate VOH’s commitment to environmental conservation and community resilience.
Inclusive Fish Farming
VOH’s inclusive fish farming project was showcased, illustrating the organisation’s dedication to providing livelihood opportunities for vulnerable youth and persons with disabilities.
Water Harvesting Techniques
The team learned about VOH’s water harvesting techniques, essential for ensuring sustainable access to water for the community. This project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP).
Empowering Vulnerable Youth
Valley of Hope is committed to empowering vulnerable youth in Chimanimani District through projects promoting inclusive and sustainable development. This ensures all community members have access to opportunities and resources.
